On January 5th, Kyra's MRI showed that the tumor looks slightly smaller than it did in October. YAY!! We have been trying a couple homeopathic methods suggested to us by a friend and we will continue to use them to see if they are making a difference.

So...we continue to wait. We will have MRI's every three months to track change (or lack of change) and will make decisions accordingly.

At this time, we are comfortable not starting treatment and pray that future MRI's will allow us to put off chemo as long as possible.

The Hope for Kyra Benefit Concert will take place on Saturday, January 28, at the Castle Rock Rec Center. Event time is 7:30pm and will feature 2 local bands and a raffle for separate prizes. My name is Kyra Elizabeth Dinkins. I am 5-years old! I have been recently diagnosed with brain cancer. The tumor that I have is close to the optic nerve, so it makes it too dangerous to remove. Surgery is not an option because of risks to my eyesight and health. While the doctors are still trying to determine the best form of treatment for me, I am requiring a lot of medical attention that is very expensive.

My mommy isn’t working right now since I need her at home to take care of me and my little brother, Matthew. My family and friends are trying to raise money for the medical care that I will need now and in the future that will help make me better. I was born deaf and have a cochlear implant that helps me to hear. Plus, I know sign language so I can talk with other people that know sign language, like some of the doctors and nurses that are helping me. But what I really need most of all is your prayers. Did you know that God can understand sign language just like me?
